The only backfire you can eliminate is the little fart when you turn of the engine, that should be done already with adjusting the idle-mixture
You can reduce the backfire but I've never heard anyone managed to get rid of it completely, it's just more or less loud depending on what pipe you've mounted. I've adjusted mixture and jets, now I've almost no backfire when engine is still cold but as soon as it's warmed up the backfire comes again, almost everytime when I go off throttle fast it goes- "BANG-pop-pop-pop..." but actually I rather like it that way :-)
